My Los Angeles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In-the-flesh trumpeters and bongo drummers accompany the hip-hop and rap soundtrack at this Bali-inspired club, where Hollywood's hot-and-bothered crowd ogles go-go dancers wearing panties and ripped T-shirts. It's the type of place you'd expect to see Angelina Jolie do an Indonesian fertility dance for Brad Pitt.

David Judaken, who owns the Moroccan-themed Hollywood club Garden of Eden, designed Mood as a temple representing "the conflict of religion and debauchery." He stocked the 6,500-square-foot spot with exotic treasures from South Indonesia (like the ancient temple bells suspended from the ceiling) and commissioned artisans in Bali to create fixtures like the front door, carved from slabs of teak and stone, and the Shivas that sit on each side of the front bar. The main focus in the smoking lounge is the wall of candles—a convenient feature for those who forgot to bring a light. Sexy socialite Allison Melnick's A-list parties take over Wednesdays (a collaborative effort with Josh Richman and Hartwell); Velvet Crossing promotes Top-40 parties on Fridays. Then comes the weekend: Michael Sutton brings his infamous celeb-studded guest list here on Saturday nights, and bootylicious babes shake their freak-a-leaky assets on Sundays at Icon Entertainment's rap and R&B bash. What would Shiva say?—Alexandra Le Tellier

Fred Segal is the starting point for a day of classic LA celebrity-stalking. Just make sure to whip out a charge card instead of a camera.

For three decades, Fred Segal has been a hotbed of celebrity-sanctioned casualwear trends. The store buyers take chances on emerging talent, and as a result, have launched cutting-edge looks from Jared Gold, Alicia Lawhon (both former clerks here) on up to international names like Martin Margiela. Cameron Diaz, Meg Ryan and Gwyneth Paltrow have been photographed carrying the store's distinctive white bag with the red and blue logo. The store is actually a collection of boutiques, thorough which rock music blares, making it feel like a nightclub for day. Everything is eye-candy appealing, from the Earl Jeans (which also launched here) to the Marc Jacobs and Jill Stuart minidresses.

Such a Deal: Once a year, Fred Segal holds a sale usually in late September. Fifty percent off everything. Need we say more?

Daddy's Little Girl

These women forged their own ways, but having famous fathers sure didn't hurt.

1. Stella McCartney
After putting Chloe back on the map, Stella McCartney broke out on her own with an eponymous line and stores. Simultaneously, she took a giant step out from the shadow of her father, former Beatle Paul McCartney.
8823 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles | (310) 273-7051
2. Dari
Thanks to Melanie Shatner, daughter of William, Valley denizens can shop close to home for Hollywood-ready looks. Note to Trekkies: She doesn't sell memorabilia from her father's "Star Trek" days. Sorry.
12184 Ventura Blvd., Studio City | (818) 762-3274
3. Strange Invisible Perfumes
Alexandra Balahoutis offers customized scents that take into account a person's travels, favorite wines and most cherished books. Such care doesn't come cheap: The consultation and first quarter-ounce bottle of perfume run $2,100. Luckily, her stepdad producer Jerry Bruckheimer can refer his high-rolling Hollywood friends to her store.
1138 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice | (310) 314-1555

Till Death Do Us Part

These Hollywood wives (and ex-wives) make good on their hubbies' fame.

1. Lush Spa
Adam Carolla's wife Lynette and Jimmy Kimmel's ex-wife Gina co-own this spa with non-famous associate Kim Sudhalter. Besides the cocktail-named treatments, clients can get actual drinks too.

3. belle gray
Owner Lisa Rinna is married to "LA Law" heartthrob Harry Hamlin, though some might call her a celebrity in her own right (hello, "Melrose Place" and "Dancing with the Stars"). The store's official website lists Rinna's favorite items and her picks for the week.
13812 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks | (818) 789-4021

All in the Family

Being known as so-and-so's [fill in familial relation here] sometimes has its perks.

1. Belle Visage
After Inez Dunst's daughter Kirsten landed a role in Interview for a Vampire, she started taking her to aesthetician Tina K for facials to combat her long hours spent in makeup. When Kirsten no longer needed a full-time momager, Inez became Public Relations Director and co-owner of Tina K's spa Belle Visage. Apparently her advice works when it comes to glowing skin.
13207 Ventura Blvd., Studio City | (818) 907-0502
2. skyla
Growing up in Hawaii together, cousins Sky Reynolds and Kelly Preston were once inseparable. Preston went on to Hollywood and married John Travolta, and Reynolds opened up her own boutique in Westwood. At the opening party, Preston brought along fellow Scientologists Danny Masterson and Erika Christensen.

3. m. fredric
Fred Levine and his sister Mardi Fox opened the first m. fredric store in 1980, way before Fred's son Adam became the Maroon 5 frontman and rumored Jessica Simpson lothario. The store carries clothing Teen People readers would consider buying as soon as they finish reading about Simpson.

Rock Band Side Projects

More a new-wave hippie than the brooding bassist one would expect, Justin Chancellor of Tool has his own book and record shop in Topanga Canyon. He also sells artwork by Alex Grey, who also creates Tool's CD covers.
120 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga | (310) 455-8738
3. X-LARGE
This store delivers skateboarding and hip-hop styles that represent youth culture in LA. Original investor Mike D of the Beastie Boys is still a shareholder.
1768 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles | (323) 666-3

Hotel:

Maintenant plasse au Bar d'hotel, comme dans toute les grandes villes du monde ils se développent beaucoup, tous plus suprenant les uns que les autres !!!!!
Voici une sélection pour L.A.:

Hip
The rooms: cool. The drinks: strong. The staff: gorgeous. The patrons: same.

1. Cameo Bar at Viceroy
In grand Colonial England-meets-Hollywood style, this chic bar fills with more locals than hotel guests.
1819 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica | (310) 451-8711

2. Bar Noir at Maison 140
With just nine tiny tables and a three-seater bar, this might be the most diminutive bar in LA. It feels like a whispered secret.
140 South Lasky Dr., Beverly Hills | (310) 281-4000

3. Stone Rose Lounge
It's hard to tell which is better looking at this trendy lounge inside the revamped Sofitel Hotel: the group of waitresses clad in cleavage-revealing black dresses or the model/actor/publicist/whatevers who hang out here.
8555 Beverly Blvd., LA | (310) 278-5444

4. boe at the Crescent
A swank Beverly Hills lobby and patio, sweet drinks, an indoor-outdoor fireplace: Lounging here is like catching up at your most stylish friend's home.
403 N. Crescent Dr., Beverly Hills | (310) 247-0505

5. The Standard Lounge on Sunset
With bubble chairs hanging from the ceiling, out-there DJing and a glass-encased live model behind the check-in desk, this is not your, um, standard deal-making hotel lobby. The pool's to the right and out the back.
8300 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood | (323) 822-3111/(323) 650-9090

Sexy
Most patrons aren't headed directly to or from one of the beds in the building. But the thought seems to flitter about the eyes of those who frequent these escapes.

1. Whiskey Blue at W Hotel
The bar is a maze of rooms, some with beds for lounging. Run by Rande Gerber, the ex-model hubby of Cindy Crawford, it's never lacking bold-faced names, or those who appear to be thanks to the extremely flattering lighting.
930 Hilgard Ave., Westwood | (310) 443-8232

2. SkyBar at the Mondrian
Long lines and a tough bouncer don't deter the faithful who try to get in here, (still!) one of the most star-studded and exclusive bars on the Strip.
8440 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood | (323) 848-6025

3. Roof Bar at the Standard Downtown
The red pod-like waterbeds around the pool are one of the sexiest places to have a cocktail at dusk. Or on a decadent afternoon.
550 S. Flower St., Los Angeles | (213) 892-8080

4. The Lobby at Chateau Marmont
The exclusive lobby of this infamous hotel is the gateway to legend. Celebs frolic in a manner as unrestrained as possible when surrounded by semi-plebes.
8221 W Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood | (323) 656-1010

5. Tropicana Bar
If you squint really hard at this poolside celeb playground, Lindsay Lohan kind of looks like Marilyn Monroe.
7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood | (323) 466-7000

Beachy
Where to go after—or instead of—sunbathing and surfing.

1. Lobby Bar at Shutters on the Beach
A few outside tables overlook the Santa Monica bike path with perfect, unobstructed views of the surf and sand. It's one of the best-kept secrets for sunset cocktails (until now, that is).
One Pico Blvd., Santa Monica | (310) 458-0030

2. Veranda Bar at Casa Del Mar
Unlike its sister hotel (Shutters, next door), this bar is inside, but the views are just as good. And here, you get plush seats and live piano music.
1910 Ocean Way, Santa Monica | (310) 581-5533

3. Veranda at the Georgian Hotel
When visiting we sit in a wicker rocking chair, order a Manhattan and watch the sun go down over the Santa Monica Bay.
1415 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica | (310) 395-9945

4. Le Troquet Terrace Bar at Le Merigot
A sophisticated lounge for cognacs, cigars, fine wines and fancy snacks just steps from the beach.
1740 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica | (310) 395-9700

5. Zinc Bar at Shade Hotel
The upscale bar at this seafoam Manhattan Beach hotel was instantly packed with hot yuppies desperate for an alternative to other local bars where "beachy" tends to conjure kegstand imagery.
1221 N. Valley Dr., Manhattan Beach | (310) 546-4995
